Angel Island State Park is the largest natural island in the San Francisco Bay. Hiking trails wind upward from the base to the summit where there is a 360-degree view of the Bay Area. Trails and pathways with softer inclines also circle the perimeter, and visitors can take guided tours by vehicle. The ferry ride from San Francisco is around 30 minutes and provides clear views of both the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. At a moderate pace the full route to the summit and back will take about three hours.
